What
do we offer?
We
hire a small fleet of mobility scooters, power and manual wheelchairs for
use in Redcar's town centre area.
Who
is it for?
The
service is for anyone over 16 who has temporary or permanent mobility
impairment.
Do
I have to live in Redcar & Cleveland?
No,
the service is available to everyone no matter where you live, apart from
longer term wheelchair hire which is for local residents only.
Do
I have to be a member?
No,
you have the choice of being a member or if you use the service
infrequently you can use the service on a casual basis.
How
much does it cost?
Annual
membership is £10 per year. It reduces to £5 per year if you are a
member of Dial-a-Ride or FROG. Each time you hire the equipment it
is free for the first 3 hours of use, then £1 per hour after that.
Casual
usage costs £1 for every hour you hire the equipment
I
have never used mobility equipment before. Will you help me get
started?
The
first time you come, we will run through a couple of forms that explain
how to safely use the equipment. We show you how to use the
equipment and do a quick assessment to make sure you feel confident and
safe before you set off.
Do
I need to book?
We
advise booking to avoid disappointment - you can do this up to a week in
